RIIVEH201E – Operate a Light Vehicle

The RIIVEH201E Operate a Light Vehicle unit is a one-day course designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate light vehicles in workplace settings. Upon completion, students receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

A light vehicle is defined as any vehicle under 4.5 tonnes with the capacity to carry up to 12 passengers. This includes:

  • Sedans and station wagons
  • Utilities (2WD and 4WD)
  • Vans, mini buses, and 4WD sedans

The course covers:

  • Safe operation procedures for light vehicles
  • Pre-start checks and equipment safety
  • Identifying and responding to vehicle faults or performance issues

This training is particularly relevant to individuals in the infrastructure, construction, resources, gas, oil, and energy sectors.

Can be taken on its own or combined with RIIVEH305F or RIIVEH203E for broader capability across vehicle types and environments.
