Course Overview
The Certificate II in Drilling Operations (RII20920) is designed for individuals seeking entry-level roles in the drilling industry, such as Driller’s Offsiders and Lease Hands. This nationally recognised qualification equips participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to support drilling operations across a variety of industry settings.
Students will perform a range of routine tasks under supervision, gaining exposure to safe work practices, environmental protocols, equipment handling, and site setup. The course also supports career development by providing a pathway into more advanced qualifications such as the Certificate III in Drilling Operations.
Qualification Requirements
To successfully achieve this qualification, participants must complete a total of 12 units of competency, comprising:
- 8 Core Units
- 4 Elective Units, with the following conditions:
- At least 1 elective must be chosen from Group A
- No more than 3 electives may be selected from Group B
- A maximum of 1 unit may be imported from another endorsed training package or accredited course (must align with AQF Level 2 outcomes)
