Supervisor Course

G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3) – Mining Supervisor & Risk Management

Course Overview:
The G1, G8, G9 Mining Supervisor Course (formerly known as S1, S2, S3) is a mandatory qualification for individuals seeking to supervise workers within the Queensland mining industry. Recognised by both the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee and the Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee, this training equips participants with the essential skills and knowledge to fulfil supervisory responsibilities effectively and safely.

Completion of this course is a statutory requirement under:

  • Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 – Division 2, Section 56
  • Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 – Division 2, Section 51
  • Ongoing compliance requires a refresher every five years, as outlined in Part 11, Regulation 84 of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017 (Qld).
