Course Overview
This nationally recognised unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively conduct telescopic materials handler (telehandler) operations within the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
It is designed for individuals working in operational roles who are required to operate a telehandler as part of their duties.
Training Scope
Training is primarily conducted using fork tynes. However, subject to site requirements and equipment availability, instruction may also include the use of a variety of attachments such as:
- Crane jibs (under 3 tonnes)
- Earthmoving buckets
- Grabs
- Other approved attachments
Important Licensing Information
Note: This course does not cover the operation of slewing telehandlers or the use of crane jib attachments with a lifting capacity exceeding 3 tonnes.
- To operate a slewing telehandler, participants must hold a High Risk Work (HRW) licence – class C2 or above.
- For crane jib attachments over 3 tonnes, a CN licence (or higher) is required.
